Contest Rules - "#CelebrateSeniors"



This contest is sponsored by Canadian Medical Association (“Sponsor”) and is open to anyone residing in Canada, excluding employees of the Canadian Medical Association or its subsidiaries and any such employees’ immediate family members, and persons with whom such employees reside.

To Enter

To enter, post a selfie with a senior  you admire to your Instagram or Facebook tagging the CMA (@CMA_Docs) and including the hashtag #CelebrateSeniors or #ÉlogeAuxAînés (only public posts will be considered) OR you can comment with selfie of yourself and a senior that you admire to the Oct. 1 post that includes #CelebrateSeniors or #ÉlogeAuxAînés from any of the following accounts; @CMA_docs ,  @Canadian Medical Association, @Association médicale canadienne OR you can write to CMA, 1867 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, ON K1G 5W8, with attention to Audrey Grandmaison – CMA “Celebrate Seniors” Contest, indicating your intention to enter the “#CelebrateSeniors” Contest. Please include your name, address, phone number, and email.

The contest begins on Sept. 28, 2018 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time and ends on Oct. 15, 2018, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Limit: One (1) entry per person for the entire contest period. By entering you agree that you have read and understood these Contest Rules.


The prize consists of one (1) Echo Dot valued at $69.99.

The prize must be accepted as awarded or forfeited and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.  

Selection of Winner(s)  

One entrant will be selected through a draw amongst all qualifying entries. The draw will take place at CMA, 1867 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, on Oct. 22 at 2 pm.

CMA will contact the selected entrant by direct messaging to the account from which the winning picture was posted or by e-mail within the 5 days following the draw.

To win, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question. The selected entrant must also sign a release form releasing the Sponsor from any and all liability arising from participation in the contest or from the acceptance of any prize. If the selected entrant cannot be reached within 14 days of CMA’s first attempt to contact the selected entrant, does not correctly answer the skill-testing question, or does not sign the release, another entrant will be randomly selected, and so on until the winner has been determined. Immediately following determination of the winner, the prize will be sent to him/her. The odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received.  


The personal information of contest entrants will only be used for the administration of the contest. Remember that any public posts may be viewed by others. Please ensure that you have the consent of anyone featured in the images you post.


Upon signed consent from all individuals in the picture, the winning post will be reposted to CMA’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts. Please ensure that you have the consent of anyone featured in the image you post.

The winner’s name will be made available upon request to anyone sending such a request to the following address within the 90 days following the date on which the winners are selected: CMA, 1870 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, ON K1G 5W8, with attention to Audrey Grandmaison.

General Conditions

This contest is subject to applicable laws. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of this publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

The Sponsor is not responsible for technical hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions that may limit or interfere with a participant’s ability to take part in the contest.  The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest if fraud or technical failure threatens to destroy the integrity of the contest.

If there is a conflict between the English and French versions of these Contest Rules, the English version prevails.
