Federal, Provincial and Territorial (F/P/T) Ministers Responsible for Seniors met today in Vancouver to discuss key issues related to seniors that matter to all Canadians such as caregiver readiness and social inclusion. The meeting was co-chaired by the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and the federal Minister responsible for Seniors, and the Honourable Terry Lake, Minister of Health, Government of British Columbia.
During the meeting, Ministers emphasized the importance of continuing to work together to support the well-being of seniors. This meeting was the first opportunity for provincial and territorial Ministers responsible for seniors to meet with Minister Duclos to begin working together on areas of common interest, while respecting jurisdictional roles and responsibilities.
