CMA mentioned in the House of Commons

Yesterday, Liberal MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith (Beaches—East York) reiterated our call for investments in seniors care, stating in the House of Commons:

“We must heed the call of the Canadian Medical Association and invest in home care and long-term care facilities. Hospital stays can cost over $1,000 per day, long-term care $130, and home care as little as $55 a day. As seniors already represent 50% of health care spending, it is incumbent on us to both improve quality of care and create savings in our healthcare system.”

This is a very positive sign that our advocacy work is taking root. Our elected officials knowing the evidence is key to implementing the change we so desperately need.
